Audi Quattro
The Audi Quattro revolutionized rallying and road performance with its turbocharged five-cylinder engine and full-time all-wheel drive—technology rarely seen in sports cars at the time. Debuting in 1980, it produced around 200 hp and featured rally-bred engineering derived from Audi’s military vehicle experience. On the world rally stage, it dominated the early Group B era, winning multiple championships and proving the advantage of AWD in motorsport. Later versions saw increased power and refinement, including the legendary short-wheelbase Sport Quattro. The Quattro permanently changed performance car design and established Audi’s identity as a technology leader.
